Review

Huddart Park’s trails are for the most part in the shade of the Redwood trees along small creeks, and very easy to walk. Hence, great views of the Bay area or open fields are not one of the park’s strongest factors. Instead, Huddart Park is a great opportunity to spend some quality outdoor time with the family and children. There are several playgrounds, picnic lawns, and camp grounds with fire pits and volleyball nets all over the park. Fun is definitely guaranteed. A big disadvantage is the signing of trails. The trail maps you can pick up on the entrance and trail signs on the paths give different information, some signs faded or are even missing. So be flexible on the trails you want to take, you might end up on a different route. Fortunately, there are many campgrounds to come across to reorient yourself. Overall, the park is a great option for an easy hiking day with the family.

Route Description
From the entrance where you will have to pay $6 per car, stay on Huddart Park Road with your car, and turn to the right on the first fork. The main road will take you to a parking lot to the right of the Meadow campgrounds. From there, walk to and follow Richard Road trail. Turn left onto Crystal Springs trail. To make the bigger loop on Crystal Springs trail, turn right on the Crystal Springs fork. Follow the trail until the intersection of Crystal Springs trail and Campground trail. Turn left onto Campground trail which will lead you back to Huddart Park Road. Go straight and follow the street until you reached the parking lot where you parked your car. Congratulations, you made it!
